Amazon’s Global Mile team is looking for a Software Development Engineer II (SDE II) to help shape the future of global logistics. As an SDE II, you will play a key role in building highly scalable distributed systems that seamlessly link third-party sellers, shipping partners, customs, and Amazon fulfillment networks. Think startup-style agility with the support and infrastructure of one of the world’s tech giants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop highly available, scalable systems for cross-border logistics.
  • Dive deep into systems design and implementation, contributing directly to core backend infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with global product managers, stakeholders, and engineering peers to deliver features end-to-end.
  • Drive engineering best practices across coding, design, testing, and operations.
  • Take part in long-term planning, product evolution, and continuous improvement of development processes.

Key Technical Skills:

Java/Python/C++, Distributed Systems, System Architecture, Design Patterns, SDLC, CI/CD, Microservices, Code Reviews, Source Control, Testing and Debugging, Scalable Backend Systems

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands-on, non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of system design and architecture experience for new or existing systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (Java, Python, C++, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with the full software development life cycle — including coding standards, code reviews, build and release processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical field.
  • Experience with cloud services, containerized deployment, and monitoring systems is a plus.
